FIRST STOP DECO OFF It was pretty wet on the Parisian streets of Deco Off this weekend. Still, the French made everyone smile with bobbing about outdoor lampshades in the newest fabrics -they’d even decorated concrete bollards in colourful fabric covers!
When you find exciting new fabric collections, the trip’s been worth it. Pierre Frey Sari was top of the list – the delicate underwater embroidery on linen with tiny seed pearls, just beautiful.
Jim Thompson windows featured large honeycombs in the latest wallpapers with bugs and bees stencilled on the glass. Inside, a totally sophisticated fabric collection for outdoor use.
There was a tropical theme in Rue de Furstemburg. Osborne & Little, doing what they do best-a window of under-the-sea urchins and sea creatures made from trimmings and fabric. Their interiors window, so elegant. The large windows of Manuel Canovas were filled with walls of fabric made to look like seaweed. Very inspiring on a wet Sunday afternoon.
