Summer is in full swing and it’s scorching outside but Abbie, Senior Designer at Jenny Blanc, is already thinking of trends and schemes for the Autumn using furniture, lighting and fabrics from the latest collections.
On the pinboard next to her desk and using a tear sheet from a magazine around which to base her scheme she has combined soft whites, old golds, shagreen and verdigris to create a wonderful contemporary look.
In the top left hand corner is a contemporary painted bedside drawer unit inspired by 1950s designer Robsjohn-Gibbings, featuring wicker wrapped handles with brass trim on brass legs.
Lighting includes a fabulous elephant lamp available from the Jenny Blanc showroom and a chic brass geometric wall lamp. A new light switch in a verdigris finish from Forbes & Lomax blends with the overall colour scheme
A white, leather effect trellis wallpaper balances the metallics and is combined with beautiful fabrics: a soft printed velvet damask, a metallic horsehair and a subtle hand blocked linen.
A table laid with beautiful gold tinted glass compliments the scheme and wine glasses enhanced with gold around the lip complete the look.
By mixing different textures, metallic and matt effects, soft, hard, dry and geometric, Abbie has created a sophisticated look that blends all the elements and which will remain timeless and interesting.
